Saint Rose, a budding juggernaut with national recognition, came into RBC having dominated its Shore Conference opponents thusfar this season behind 6'8" Villanova recruit, Matt Hodge. A full house in Red Bank saw the full potential of the Purple Roses on Saturday afternoon.

St. Rose ranked 3rd in the ReportIt Top 25, exploded out of the gate quickly led by the 6'8" Hodge, who scored 12 points and was joined by junior guard Bryan Ebeling with 6 as St rose took a 27-11 lead at the end of 1, effectively ending the game from the opening tip in another dominant first quarter performance against Shore Conference opposition.
The second quarter saw St Rose start with an 8-0 led by junior guard Jayden Hodge and 6'6" senior guard Gio Panzini to take a 35-12 lead. Red Bank Catholic, not to go quietly into the Bayshore afternoon, answered with 7 straight to cut the lead to 34-19 led by Tyler Burnham. Burnham, the Casey's immovable object in the paint, played well in the post scoring a dozen in the first half. St. Rose turned up the heat, forced several turnovers and scored the last 14 points in the 2nd quarter as Matt Hodge continued his profilic, elite level play and finished the half with 19 and The Roses led 50-19 at the half.
The third quarter saw the teams trade basket early on as Tyler Burnham and Evan Romano stood out. Romano hit several tough drives and Burnham continued his gritty play inside. The third quarter ended with St Rose pouring on 38 points, putting a bow on a dominant performance with an insurmountable 78-30 lead.
The Roses rolled through the fourth quarter to a masterful 88-41 victory.
Matt Hodge Scored 23 points with 12 rebounds and his brother Jayden finished with 13 points. Gio Panzini, who transferred from RBC to St Rose, had 12 against his former team. Red Bank Catholic was led by Tyler Burnham with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Case Agency Player Of The Game
Matt Hodge, Saint Rose
Who else? The most dominant player to grace the Shore Conference since Danny Werner, leading the most dominant team that the Shore has seen since CBA had Begley, Skrocki and others over 20 years ago. Hodge has put on a clinic this season and his double-double was the power source for another big win.
