The Burlington County Scholastic League saw a new kid on the block crash the party this year, while a traditional power was in a rebuilding process. The combination made for a wide open year in Burlington County.
Season Recap
The new kids on the block, Kipp Cooper Norcross, a young charter program, exploded on the scene with a 22-9 season a perfect mark in the BCSL Freedom Division. Kipp made a run in the post season as well, advancing to the South Jersey Group I final before losing to Pitman. Antoine Miller returns four of his first five for next season and expectations of a sectional title will remain high. Juniors Maleake Kelly and Tahmir Dixon were the driving force to KCN this winter, while classmates Jeremiah Shelton and Ta'Jon Chambliss filled in key roles. That core four could be capable of winning South Jersey next winter.
Cinnaminson finished with a more than respectable 23-6 record. Losses to Mainland, Cherokee, Saint Augustine and Camden are never "bad losses." While senior Andrew Plaza graduates, coach Mike Fries returns four starters for what could be a big season for Cinnaminson looking down the road. Sody Gantt returns as their leading scorer and rebounder, along with Noah & Drew Harvey, plus second leading scorer Colin Parrish.
Coach Nick Powell led Medford Tech to a 19-9 season behind one of the top seniors in the BSCL, Tre Powell, who finished his career with over 1,600 points. Robbie Conyer also graduates from this crew, leaving two big scoring holes, but Nesta Rice, a junior who has over 1,200 points, returns for his senior year to lead their push next winter.
Burlington Twp won 21 games and lost a nailbiter to Ewing in the Central Jersey Group III Tournament. They graduate two but bring back four key players. Youngster Quade Hendrix joins Irving Singletary, Baron Davis and Isaiah N'Daye as key returners for next season. This team could be poised to break out once again if they hold the core together.
Trenton Catholic went through a major shift in the last year and change, with the school focusing on keeping itself afloat and restructuring. Coach Eric Elliott returns every player of consequence and could be a force to watch next year after they finished 17-11 this winter.

Tre Powell, Medford Tech
It's hard to ignore a player who went over 600 points on a team that won 19 games. Powell has done it for three years at Medford, finishing with 1,607 points and a long list of awards.
