Red bank Catholic took the short trip to Lincroft to play a hot CBA team in front of a sold out gym on Saturday afternoon in a battle for the Founders Cup. RBC started well and jumped out to a 7-4 lead with 5 points from 5'11" senior and Wilkes commit Colin Cavanaugh. CBA bounced back and took a 13-11 lead with 2 three pointers from Justin Fuerbacher and 8 points from Kevin Pikiell. The quarter ended with CBA leading RBC by a score of 17-16.

The second quarter saw the defenses tighten, with RBC led by 6'6" Tyler Burnham with 4 blocked shots and 7 rebounds while Fuerbacher countered for CBA with 3 blocks, 2 steals and 4 rebounds. The score was tied at 22 when Ryan Pryor hit a three pointer to put RBC ahead, Justin Fuerbacher answered with 6 points as the Colts took a 28-26 lead into the half.
The third quarter began with Burnham posting up as he scored on 2 tough shots to put RBC ahead 32-30 with 4 minutes to go in the quarter. Pikiell was fouled for a 2 point play and the Colts immediately followed it up with a 3 point basket off a steal by sophomore guard Charlie Marcoullier as CBA stretched its lead after 3 by 8 at 43-35.
The 4th quarter began with CBA scoring a 3 pointer form the top of the key by Marcoullier to take an eleven point lead. RBC stayed in the game behind three pointers by Prior and Cavanaugh to cut the lead to 45-41 with 5 minutes left in the game but CBA answered right back with a deep three and a running one hander from Marcoullier. The Colts never looked back and locked down a 56-47 win.
