Games To Follow For December 19

Tuesday promises to offer a full slate of high-quality matchups for fans around the Garden State to select from. Here are some of the top games to consider.

#22 Colonia(1-0) vs #21 Saint Joseph's of Metuchen(2-0), 5:30 PM

Without question the biggest game in the Garden State is a ReportIt Top 25 battle of next door neighbors as Saint Francis(PA) commit Jeremy Clayville and the Falcons take the short trip to a traditional rival, Colonia. The Patriots are led by sophomore prospect Aiden Derkack. St Joe's opened the season with a wild win over Piscataway and followed it up with a gritty win over a quality Monsignor Farrell(NY) side. Get there extra early as it's a marquee, rivalry matchup and seating could be at a premium, even with the early tip.

East Orange(2-0) vs #11 Newark Arts(2-0), 7 PM

*JD Core Training North Jersey Game Of The Day*

East Orange has jumped out the gate undefeated by taking apart a decimated-by-transfer-and-graduation Newark East Side and then downing Seton Hall Prep. They'll utilize a balanced offensive output to try and slow up Prophet Kates and his Arts squad.

Arts is loaded with talent, including seniors Anthony Akande and Savod Godwin; junior Shelton Colwell; Sophomores Jayden Holman and Clifford Deguerre; and others. They have won both of their games by wide margins this year.

Colts Neck(1-0) vs Red Bank Catholic(1-0), 5:30 PM

The Caseys are building a program in recent years and their current squad may be the best of the lot. They're led by a group of quality seniors, including point guard Luke Iasparro, Wilkes commit Colin Cavanaugh, 6'3" wing Pasquale Sabino and the immovable object in the middle, Delaware football commit Tyler Burnam. Toss in Ryan Prior, who may be the best basketball player on the roster in spite of his baseball future, and this team has a rock solid starting 5, perhaps the best starting lineup in the Shore Conference outside of Saint Rose.

Colts Neck will look to play the role of spoiler at home. They'll lean heavily on the Belcher brohers and will need a big game on both ends from their senior big man, Vova Trotsko.

Expect a big crowd on hand, in spite of the early start.
