Games To Watch January 5

After a busy Thursday, a handful of games to follow on Friday include:

Parsippany Hills(7-1) vs #18 Morris Catholic(8-0), 7PM

Parsippany Hills is the next NJAC team to try and take their shot at 6'10" Penn commit Michelangelo Oberti and the Crusaders, who have downed all comers thusfar this year. Par Hills has won 7 straight after an opening night loss to Immaculata. Their senior backcourt will have to have a good game, led by 1,000 point chasers Julio Tatis and Simeon Washington. They'll also need help from steady senior guard Joey Ciccotelli. With only one player listed above 6'1", containing Oberti will be difficult, but the guards will have to find a way.

Holmdel(6-1) vs Ranney(5-2), 5:30 PM

Outside of a loss to Manasquan, Holmdel has been impressive this season and came out of Christmas break with a statement win at Toms River North. They've been playing without Nick Seeloch but his classmate Ben Kipnis has run the show in his absence. Baseball prospect James Vallillo has also stepped up his game as a senior, while junior Daxx Corneiro has come on strong.

Ranney has lost their last two after coming out the gate strong, though their losses are to solid teams in RBR and Central Regional. Drew Buck has been solid in every game for the Panthers this season but they need a consistent second scoring option to step forward coming out of Christmas as some of their shooters have gone a touch cold the last week.
