The Elizabeth Minutemen entered the new year ranked #5 in the GSBR Top 25 and #1 in Group IV--They looked the part and then some at the Dunn Center against Westfield on Friday evening.

Cam McRae opened the scoring for the Minutemen after an errant pass, converting a layup; Enzo Ferrero responded for Westfield with a jumper, setting the game off and running. Luis Cuero and Zach Epp traded baskets a minute apart and the game was evenly matched at 4-4 as the first quarter made the turn. Jayden Johnson, Elizabeth’s sophomore prospect, found his first points on a triple, but Epp matched him to tie the game at 7. Jeremiah Adams came off the bench as Elizabeth coach Phil Collicchio looked for some matchup changes and hit two three pointers, giving the Minutemen a 13-7 lead with 2:12 left in the first, prompting a Westfield timeout. Elizabeth kept the hot hand from deep and got further help as McRae banked in a three to end the quarter up 21-9.
McRae kept the hot hand going in the second, knocking down yet another Minutemen three pointer, extending their lead to 24-9. Elizabeth kept their foot on the floor and pushed their lead to 20 at the half and cruised their way to a dominating 78-46 victory.
