Tri-County Conference Recap

With our Group-By-Group recaps complete, GSBR now moves on to its county recaps for the 2023-2024 season, beginning with the Tri-County Conference in South Jersey.

Season In Review

Pitman set the high water mark for the Tri-County this winter with a 23-8 season, South Jersey Group I Title and a trip to the state semifinal. They were led by talented junior guard Elijah Crispin, who scored nearly 600 points and dished out an eye popping 200 assists this winter. His sharpshooting classmate Michael Fisicaro was also a dangerous threat behind the three point line, hitting 65 triples on the year. `Their first five was rounded out by seniors Sonny Myers, Porter Kostiuk and Stephen Devanney, all of whom were key contributors.

Timber Creek, champions of the TCC Liberty Division as well as the TCC Tournament, will find their early state playoff exit as a slightly disappointing end to their 20-5 season, especially so because they lost by double digits at home to Barnegat in the opening round of states. Coach Rich Bolds returns leading scorer Marcus Upton for his senior campaign next year and expectations will remain high for another successful season in spite of losing three key seniors.

Donny Lang and Overbrook had another "standard year." They went over 20 wins and claimed a win in the state tournament before falling to a solid Cinnaminson team in South Jersey Group II. The Lockdown Year excluded, the last time Overbrook won less than 20 games was 2018-2019, when they finished 17-10...For the record, the Lockdown Year team went 13-2 and if they played a full season, probably would have passed 20 wins. They bring back four of the top six for next year, so the expectation will remain the same.
